Event Description:

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition challenges research-based master’s and PhD students to present their research to a layperson audience in three minutes or less. Students are allowed one slide, but no props. This competition has been gaining momentum at Laurier since 2012, with a growing number of graduate students competing over the years.

This year, Laurier will also be hosting the Undergraduate Three Minute Talk Competition which will allow undergraduate students completing a research-based thesis, major research paper or directed studies project to compete!

These competitions allow participants an opportunity to develop a range of skillsets, while highlighting some incredible research. Laurier will be hosting both the undergraduate Three Minute Talk and the graduate Three Minute Thesis (3MT® ) competitions on March 16, 2020 from 9 am to 4 pm.
