The Smart Silver Economy: Tech-Enabled Aging for Good
Start Date: 3/13/2019Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 3/13/2019End Time: 8:30 PM

Event Description:

Speaker: Dr. Josephine McMurray, Business Technology Management Program, Lazaridis School of Business and Economics

Abstract:

In 2016, the number of older adults in Canada surpassed the number of children, due to lower fertility rates, increasing life expectancy and the baby boomers aging. The Silver Economy is a term that has been used to refer to economic activity associated with meeting the needs of seniors. In this lecture I will explore how technology might be used to help organizations and communities manage the impact of a growing number of older adults, but better still how they can thrive by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in the health and age-related technology sector.

This event is part of the Laurier Milton Lecture Series, a partnership between the Town of Milton, Laurier and the Milton Public Library. Admission is free, and no registration is required.
