Reconcillation in the Indigenous Persons' Court

Event Description:

Lisa Van Every coordinates the Indigenous Knowledge Helpers program at the Indigenous Persons' Court in Brantford. She will be speaking about the establishment of this court and the unique role it plays in dealing with Indigenous justice issues. Lisa is also the cultural coordinator of a new program sponsored by Aboriginal Legal Services called, Yoha:te ne kahsen:na (The Road To Your Name) which helps people going through the justice system to reconnect to their culture.

This is event is part of the lecture series hosted by the Friends and Neighbours of Woodland Cultural Centre, in support of the Save the Evidence Campaign.
