Midian Farm: A Family Narrative and the Vision of a Christian Utopian Community

Event Description:

Join us for a screening of the 80-minute film Midian Farmfollowed by a panel discussion including Liz Marshall, the film's director; Diane Marshall, AAMFT supervisor and former clinical director of the Institute of Family Living, Toronto’s first multifaith centre for family therapy. She will reflect on her daughter making a film about the community of which Diane Marshall was a leader.

Also on the panel will be Katharine Zywert, PhD candidate in social and ecological sustainability at the University of Waterloo. Zywert researches challenges facing human and ecological health in the Anthropocene. She will respond to the role of utopian visions relevant to current pressing issues.

Moderated by Christopher Ross, adjunct faculty at Martin Luther University College, and emeritus associate professor, Department of Religion and Culture at Laurier.

Location: Rm. 203 Martin Luther University College

Parking: There is no visitor parking at Luther. Visitors may find free three-hour parking on surrounding streets. They may also find parking on Laurier's Waterloo campus at the metered-parking section and pay-and-display lots indicated on this map.
