Identifying caregivers at risk of burden: A new way to use existing electronic health information
Start Date: 6/4/2020Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 6/4/2020End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description:

In many parts of Canada, an existing electronic health assessment is being used in-home care, called the Resident Assessment Instrument for Home Care or RAI-HC. In this presentation, we’ll highlight how we’ve created and tested a new electronic screening tool to flag caregivers who may be at risk of caregiver burden. This new screener was developed using data previously collected using the RAI-HC in Winnipeg and in Victoria, BC.

We will also discuss how this new screening tool can have wider use across Canada and in multiple other countries who are also using the RAI-HC, as well as identify the signs of caregiver burden that are used in the assessment of caregiver burden.
