8:30 AM - 10:00 AM Senate Executive and Finance Committee
It shall be the duty of the Executive and Finance Committee to care for any matters
committed to it by Senate, to function in place of the Senate between meetings of the Senate, to consider matters pertinent to Senate, including policies and protocol relating to university Convocations and functions, and to report to Senate. The Executive and Finance Committee also considers the financial position of the University. It makes recommendations to Senate on budget planning as well as on the details of the annual University operating budget as prepared for presentation to Senate and the Board. The recommendations of Senate on that budget are forwarded to the Board of Governors, the body with ultimate fiduciary responsibility for the University.

The agenda will be posted approximately one week in advance of the meeting and approved minutes will follow once approved at the subsequent meeting. Full agenda packages can be accessed by staff and faculty on Laurier Connect.

    This workshop will be online. The consultant delivering the workshop will email you a link to join the online workshop at least one hour prior to the start of the workshop.

    Registration deadline is 3 p.m. the day before the workshop.

    Workshop Description:

    Do you know what skills employers are seeking? Do you know what transferable skills means? Learn how to make your experiences valuable to an employer. Attend this workshop to help develop your ability to understand and articulate your skills on a resumé and in an interview.

    Attend three workshops and participate in career development activities and events to earn the Engagement and Employability Certificate, a valuable addition to your resumé and Laurier Experience Record:

    • Transferable Skills: Articulate Your Experiences Workshop
    • Workplace Expectations: Be Prepared Workshop
    • Network with Confidence: Perfect Your Pitch Workshop
    • Complete a Mock Interview: Practice Makes Perfect – book an interview skills appointment with a Career Consultant
    • Conduct an Informational Interview: Build Your Network – complete on your own and fill out a short questionnaire in Navigator.
          Engage: Experience Events – attend three Career Centre events i.e., Career Fair, Job Fair, Career Centre Speaker Panels, Employer Recruiting Sessions, Further Education Fair
