The program will open with a performance of music by Clara Schumann on the vintage Streicher fortepiano, played by Heather Taves. Next, the young emerging pianist and Laurier student Marko Pejanovic will play a work written by the young Johannes Brahms. These Variations on a theme by Robert Schumann were penned soon after a 20-year old Brahms first knocked on the door of the Schumann household in 1853. This will be followed by a piano duet by Brahms, performed by Walter Delahunt and Heather Taves. After intermission, Maestro Delahunt will play Brahms late masterpiece, the Intermezzi Opus 118. The evening will conclude with a Brahms Hungarian Rhapsody for piano duet.
