ACERS 2020: Undergraduate Research Paper and Project Poster Competition and Awards Celebration

The Academic, Creative and Engaged Research Showcase (ACERS) 2020 will take place from March 9 to 13, 2020.

Join us today for the following events:

  • Undergraduate Research Paper and Project Showcase – Poster Competition, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., One Market, Main Level

All Day Zero Waste Week

The Sustainability Office is hosting its second annual Zero Waste Week from March 9 to 13.

Throughout the week we'll have a Zero Waste Challenge for both students and our Green Offices to challenge themselves to fitting all their non-compostable or recyclable waste in a 500-mL mason jar.

We have several events throughout the week including a Zero Waste 101 boothing event, Fashion Swap, DIY workshops, and the Freestore grand opening.

    De-stress with some of our four-legged friends! We host chilling with dogs each week over the lunch hour.

    Stop by any day of the week for different activities:

    • Mondays – Contemplative Music
    • Tuesdays – Reading and Reflecting on the Book of Acts: A Window into the Early Church
    • Wednesdays – Prayers for the World
    • Thursdays – Chilling with Dogs; Multifaith Teachings
    • Fridays – Settler Work: Contemplative Arts, and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG)

    Every Thursday, the Faculty of Music is pleased to present our free Music at Noon concert series, where local, national and international artists perform for the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

    This week we welcome Elaine Lau & Joseph Ferretti (duo piano) to our series.

    Pause and reflect each Thursday at Luther. We host multifaith teaching sessions each week over the lunch hour. Join us for teachings from different faiths: Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Orthodox Christianity – a different topic/faith perspective each week.

    Intro to DSLR Photography with the Laurier Library Makerspace
    Learn to take manual control of a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera for capturing more intentional images. No prior experience required. Cameras (Canon T6s) are provided.

    This workshop is open to Laurier students, faculty and staff.

    On March 12, 2020, the Lazaridis School welcomes Michael Lee-Chin to deliver a keynote speech to Wilfrid Laurier students, staff, faculty and community members.

    Michael is the Chairman of Portland Holdings Inc, as well as the CEO and Chairman of Mandeville Private Client Inc. The chat is being led by Tony Tang, Associate Professor and Director of Master of Finance (MFin) program at the Lazaridis School.
