This week we welcome speakers:
SarahRose Black (1:30 p.m.) "Creating New Programming within a Health Care Institution"
This presentation will provide an overview of the process of creating new programming within a health care institution, including practical approaches and theoretical foundations. Drawing on the model of developing and expanding a music therapy program at an urban cancer centre in downtown Toronto, SarahRose will share ideas and considerations as to the process of implementing as well as sustaining an expressive arts-based model within the Canadian health care system.
Stephanie Yelovich (2:30 p.m.) “Protecting, Nurturing and Maintaining the Voice”
Using simple and holistic tools, this presentation will bring awareness to how our bodies are instruments for sound but also how to protect, nurture and maintain the voice and physical body throughout rehearsals, classes, presentations and daily life as music therapists and educators. This presentation covers vocal hygiene 101 but with a twist.
