10:00 AM - 12:00 PM LOCUS Senior's Valentines Day Dance

LOCUS and The City of Brantford Parks & Recreation, are hosting a Valentines Day Dance for seniors at the Brierwood Gardens retirement home. This initiative will see LOCUS students helping to prepare and execute a holiday themed social for seniors that will aim to build community cohesion, and foster Laurier’s relationship with the City of Brantford. LOCUS will be decorating a main room with Valentines themed decorations, providing a photo booth as well as catering in brunch for students and seniors.

The event will take place on Valentine's Day from 10 a.m. to noon at the Brierwood Gardens Long Term Care Home.

  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Peer Feedback: Describing your Teaching Approach

    This session is designed to facilitate the process of receiving peer feedback on your teaching philosophy statement from peer as well as an experienced facilitator. We will also continue to discuss teaching dossiers and the supporting materials that can be used to showcase how you put your teaching philosophies into practice in the classroom. Participants are required to come to the session with a working draft of their teaching philosophy statement. This session is open to all graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who have attended the pre-requisite workshop entitled “Describing your Teaching Approach.”

    The By-laws and Regulations Committee shall consider and make recommendations to Senate for the proper functioning of the Senate.

    The agenda will be posted approximately one week in advance of the meeting and approved minutes will follow once approved at the subsequent meeting.  Full agenda packages can be accessed by staff and faculty on Laurier Connect.

    Mindfulness meditation can help reduce rumination and over-thinking, which can reduce stress and anxiety. Learn about meditation and participate in an introductory exercise. Workshops are free for all registered students, and registration is not required. Find the Wellness Education Centre below the Student Wellness Centre and down the hall from Veritas Café.
