Ecological Understanding: Causes and Solutions to Chronic Homelessness (Hunsberger Lecture)

Event Description:
Psychology's annual Hunsberger lecture presents Dr. Ronni Michelle Greenwood, from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She takes an ecological approach to understanding chronic homelessness and the kinds of approaches taken to resolving it. International findings from research on the Housing First model of homeless services will be presented to illustrate the importance of a key community psychology principle, empowerment, in resolving the tension between structure and individual agency in understanding the causes of and solutions to chronic homelessness.
