In this interactive workshop led by Sarah Syrett (MSW'13), we sideline the fluffy self-care definitions and get real about what we truly need to feel happy, fulfilled, and energized. Syrett is a field co-ordinator for Laurier's Bachelor of Social Work program and a self-care facilitator.
- The universal struggle to balance your needs with the needs of everyone else in your life, so you can recharge your batteries and feel energetic instead of spread thin.
- The common misconception that putting yourself first makes you selfish and self-centered, so you can do what lights you up without feeling guilty about it.
- The reasons we talk ourselves out of doing things (like going to the gym by ourselves or applying for a new job), so that you can get things done and achieve your goals.
- Practical strategies for managing your day-to-day stressors so that you can sleep soundly at night and feel excited about the day ahead.
Let’s face it. Having a 20-minute bubble bath and expecting your life stresses to wash away is unrealistic. So ditch the tub and join me to learn how to level-up your self-care routine to make it meaningful for you!
Elevating Laurier Leaders
This event is part of a special women's series hosted by President Deborah MacLatchy. Elevating Laurier Leaders (ELL) is coming to Waterloo after sold-out events in Toronto in spring 2019.
The series brings together accomplished Laurier alumnae committed to advancing women’s leadership and to helping them achieve their full potential. ELL is part of building a supportive community of women from diverse industries and backgrounds who want to support each other in their leadership journeys.
You can register for this event and other ELL events online. All events take place at THEMUSEUM over breakfast.
