    Photos can be sent to globalengagement@wlu.ca, by Thursday, Nov. 14. All submissions will be displayed in the RCW lobby during International Education Week, where you can vote on your favourites. The top three photos will be framed and displayed in the Laurier International office in One Market.

  • All Day Journey to the Mexican Border (Multi-Day Event)

    Neala Hayratiyan traveled to the border of Mexico and Guatemala, along with Associate Professor Stacey Wilson-Forsberg, on the 2019 Mexico Migration field course. This photo exhibit shares some of that journey, introducing real people who challenge our ideas about migration.

  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Taco Tuesday Teach-in: Writing Well: Editing Your Work

    This workshop will help students develop the skills needed at the end of the writing process. It will focus on strategies for effective editing, revising, and proofreading and will include a brief discussion of stylistic considerations.

    The workshops runs from 11 a.m. to noon., followed by tacos and drop-in time with our Senior Peer Mentor for Indigenous Students.

    Taco Tuesday Teach-ins are monthly academic skills workshops facilitated by Learning Skills and Development staff at the Indigenous Student Centre. Workshops are followed by a free taco lunch, courtesy of Indigenous Initiatives.

    All students are welcome. No registration required.

    Nuha Dwaikat Shaer, a lecturer with the Faculty of Social Work, will be discussing housing as it relates to human rights.

    Housing is a universal human right and essential to human survival and dignity. Yet, in conflict zones such as Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), policies of home destruction and forcible displacement severely affect vulnerable Palestinian communities.

    This event is presented in collaboration with WUSC as part of International Education Week.

    This workshop will help students refine their academic writing by learning about the style of scholarly discourse and making an impact with citation and scholarly language.

    A facilitated study group (FSG) is a time and place for you to get together with other people from your classes and an FSG leader (someone who has previously taken the course) to discuss the course content and gain a deeper understanding of what is being covered in the class lectures and readings.

    This does not mean that the FSG leaders will teach you the content, but they will help you enhance your understanding of course material, and they can also help students with understanding assignment requirements.

    Are you an international student at Laurier? Are you interested in hearing how other students launched their career in Canada? Join us as we welcome Laurier International alumni and other professionals from diverse industries who will share their personal career experiences and professional advice. Attending this event is a great way to gain interesting insights and build your professional network.

    Panelists will present from 6 – 7:30 p.m. with an open networking time with light refreshments to follow.

    Registration and a list of participating alumni (as they are confirmed) are on Navigator.

    We offer Networking Workshops throughout the term that will help you make the most of this opportunity.
