Canadian households toss out about $1,500 worth of food annually, and when you calculate other sources of food waste (restaurants, grocery stores, farms, etc.), we are wasting billions – $31 billion here in Canada alone.
Fortunately, there are many things we can do at home to reduce our food waste, and there are tons of delectable zero-waste recipes you can easily make in your own kitchen.
Join fellow Golden Hawks back at the Nest to learn how you can reduce food waste, enjoy a cooking class that will walk you through the process and enjoy the fruits of your labour over a glass of wine.
Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the Laurier Food Bank which directly supports Laurier students in need.
This event is in collaboration with the GSA and Sustainability Office.
