All Day Douglas R. Ewart: Crepuscule Mixed Media Installation (Multi-Day Event)
Douglas R. Ewart’s Crepuscule is a multimedia, interactive installation and exhibition of music, film, sculptural assemblage and performance art, exploring the role of improvisation in building and strengthening community. Douglas R. Ewart is a versatile composer, improviser, sculptor and maker of masks and instruments. He is also an inspiring and enthusiastic educator and lecturer. Throughout his acclaimed 40-year career, Ewart has led projects in diverse media, weaving his many talents into a single sensibility that encourages and celebrates the wholeness of individuals in culturally active communities.

  • All Day Registration Period: Campus Career Shadow Day for Indigenous Students (Multi-Day Event)

    The Campus Career Shadow Day for Indigenous Students is a unique opportunity for self-identified Indigenous Students to engage in career exploration right here on campus! Students will make a connection between classroom and career to better understand the knowledge, skills, and requirements needed to pursue a fulfilling career at Laurier.

    Participation in Campus Career Shadow Day includes pre-shadow and post-shadow meetings for student participants with representatives from the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, Career Development Centre and Human Resources. Students will be matched with a Laurier staff or faculty who align with their careers goals and will be able to provide insight into the field.

  • All Day LIFT Exhibition Series: Push and Pull (Multi-Day Event)
    This year, the LIFT series combines the work of Patrick Cull, Žana Kozomora and Donna Stewart, all artists from the Waterloo region. Each artist uses printmaking in their work, all with different techniques, materials and styles. Their work will be on display in the Library until August 2019. The LIFT microgalleries are located on floors 4-6 of the Waterloo campus Library daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Confused when the pronoun acts as the subject of a clause? Do you know your adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, and interjections? Come and learn the rules of usage and principles of composition most commonly violated on the GMAT.

    The Lazaridis MBA has teamed up with Quantum Test Prep to provide a FREE GMAT verbal refresher!

    Topics covered include Parts of Speech, Verb Tenses, Grammar Terminology, and Parts of a Sentence.

    The Quantum Pre-GMAT Verbal Refresher class is designed to help you brush up on your high school Verbal skills before you formally start preparing for the GMAT.

    The workshop is located at Laurier’s Toronto MBA Campus at Vantage Venues (formerly St. Andrew’s Club and Conference Centre).

    The workshop is free to attend, all you need to do is pre-register at lazaridismba.ca

    The GAMEtalk lecture series is a partnership between the Game Design and Development program and the Laurier Library to bring in speakers who are involved in the game industry to speak to students, faculty and the community. The speaker for October is Mary Pilon - don't miss her speak in GRH 207. Mary Pilon is a journalist from New York City who wrote the New York Times Bestseller “The Monopolist”. The book looks at the story of how Monopoly started as a critique of capitalism, the lost female originator of the game, and the real history behind one of the bestselling games of all time.
