|All Day ||LIFT Exhibition Series: Push and Pull (Multi-Day Event)|
This year, the LIFT series combines the work of Patrick Cull, Žana Kozomora and Donna Stewart, all artists from the Waterloo region. Each artist uses printmaking in their work, all with different techniques, materials and styles. Their work will be on display in the Library until August 2019.
The LIFT microgalleries are located on floors 4-6 of the Waterloo campus Library daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

|Board Executive & Governance Meeting|
The Executive and Governance Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the Board with powers of executive authority as delegated. The Committee has overall responsibility for board education, the completion of annual and strategic plans, and the governance structures and practices of the Board.

Learn the basics of using a 3D printer and 3D designing software. This workshop uses a free online application called Tinkercad to teach makers who have never 3D printed about the 3D space and then also how to set up and print out your model on a 3D printer. Fall convocation ceremonies on the Brantford campus take place in the Sanderson Centre for Performing Arts.
Please note that tickets are required for guests to attend. Each student can claim up to 3 tickets from the convocation portal. Guests without tickets are welcome to view the ceremony through live streaming.

|2:30 PM ||Laurier’s Edna Staebler Visiting Writer to speak at Brantford Library (Multi-Day Event)|
Internationally recognized author and Wilfrid Laurier University’s Edna Staebler Visiting Writer for fall 2018 Alison Pick will appear at the Brantford Public Library for a book talk and discussion.
The event is free and open to the community.
Pick is an award-winning author, with accomplishments in three genres – fiction, memoir and poetry. Her works include Far to Go and Between Gods. During her time as Laurier’s visiting writer for the fall 2018 term, she will be working on her new novel, a project with the working title of The Bluebird of Happiness.
The Edna Staebler Laurier Writer-in-Residence positions were established in 2012 with a bequest from the late Edna Staebler, prolific creative non-fiction writer and author of the very popular Schmecks series of books that celebrate the culture of Waterloo Region.

Practice time for Inshallah, a 130+ voice choir gathering from across campus and throughout Waterloo Region, singing songs of praise and prayer, of joy and lament, from around the world. It’s a fun and welcoming space where multifaith and multicultural diversity is explored through music at rehearsals, public gatherings and workshops.
New members accepted during the first two practices of the fall term.

Halloween Fright Night will take place during the Weekly Gaming Nights. It will feature a Escape Room, created by the Dr. Who Society. This activity will be admission by donation, with all proceeds being donated to the Sick Kids Foundation. Free activities will also be available including Horror Virtual Reality on an Oculus Rift, a photo booth, costume contest and Halloween/horror themed video games and board games.
