All Day LIFT Exhibition Series: Push and Pull (Multi-Day Event)
This year, the LIFT series combines the work of Patrick Cull, Žana Kozomora and Donna Stewart, all artists from the Waterloo region. Each artist uses printmaking in their work, all with different techniques, materials and styles. Their work will be on display in the Library until August 2019. The LIFT microgalleries are located on floors 4-6 of the Waterloo campus Library daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • All Day Mindful Mantras

    Students are invited to share their 'Mindful Mantra' on the Chalkboard Wall in RCW and to see how other students practice self-care. This is an all day event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • 8:30 AM Thrive Week (Multi-Day Event)

    Thrive Week is a week-long series of events focused on building positive mental health for Laurier students, faculty and staff. This initiative was developed by the University of British Columbia in the spring of 2009, and has now become a nation-wide initiative that includes over 11 Canadian colleges and universities. The 3rd annual WLU Brant Thrive Week will take place from Oct. 22 to 26, 2018.

    October 23rd: every department will be part of a Mental Health Carnival around campus. All other days there are events as well.

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Intro to 3D Printing

    Learn the basics of using a 3D printer and 3D designing software. This workshop uses a free online application called Tinkercad to teach makers who have never 3D printed about the 3D space and then also how to set up and print out your model on a 3D printer. Please email Madi Mackenzie to register for this event.

    Join us weekly for mood walks, and take the pre/post surveys to identify your mood. Free giveaways include fruit, snacks, protein bars, protein drinks, shirts, coats and water bottles. Free certified hiker training is included. Walkers meet  in front of  the student centre every Monday.

    A casual drop-in time for makers and aspiring makers to visit and work in the Library Makerspace. All are welcome to explore 3D printing, sewing, diecutting, photography and much more.

    Muse is a wearable headband that uses electroencephalography—or EEG—to detect electrical activity in your brain. The goal of Muse is to make you aware of your brain activity and to train your brain via audio and visual cues such as the sound of waves.
