Writing Truth, Writing Lies: between fiction and nonfiction

Event Description:

Fiction writer Carrianne Leung is serving as Wilfrid Laurier University’s Edna Staebler Writer in Residence for the Winter 2020 term, and a welcome reception will be held in her honour at the Hawk’s Nest on Jan. 23. Doors open at 7 p.m., with welcome addresses and Carrianne’s talk, titled “Writing Truth, Writing Lies: between fiction and nonfiction,” starting at 7:30 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public.

Carrianne Leung is an award-winning author of two books of fiction. Her nationally bestselling book, That Time I Loved You, won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award in 2019, and her first book, The Wondrous Woo, was a finalist for a Toronto Book Award in 2014. She is WLU's eighth Edna Staebler Writer in Residence.
