All Day Xiaojing Yan: Heaven and Earth Mixed Media Installation (Multi-Day Event)

Xiaojing Yan's Heaven and Earth is a mixed media installation that features a mountain made of thousands of pine needles embedded in a silk organza and presents a different approach to traditional Chinese landscape painting.

Xiaojing Yan is a Chinese-Canadian artist based in Markham, Ontario. Her art highlights sculptural installations that combine the cultural and natural world and integrates both Western and Eastern elements, paralleling her own cultural identity a a Chinese-Canadian.

    Join us for Coffee Club! Meet new people and share experiences from your own country while learning more about Canadian culture in a relaxed and informal setting.     Academic advising will be hosting drop-in appointments for the entire month of January, starting on Jan. 7 running until Jan. 25. They will be Monday to Friday from 9–11:30 a.m. and again from 1–3:30 p.m.. The events are first come, first served. Please note that we will cut the line when we reach capacity.     10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wellness Workshop: Consent and Healthy Relationships
    Healthy relationships are essential to wellness. Join us to talk about respectful relationships, how to maintain wellness within them, and how to cope if they end. We will also talk about having positive conversations about consent and the importance of personal boundaries. Workshops are free for all registered students, and registration is not required. Find the Wellness Education Centre below the Student Wellness Centre and down the hall from Veritas Café.

    The Centre for Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with Laurier's Faculty of Music present "Encounters in Music and Community: A Racial Justice Perspective".

    Join us for an engaging conversation about music, community, and race featuring four prominent and accomplished panelists, who will share their experiences as racialized women creating music and building community, and will speak to the intersections of music and racial justice!

    The panel includes Joni NehRita, Karen Burke, Dr. Laura Mae Lindo (MPP) and Alysha Brilla and will be moderated by Dr. Carol B. Duncan.
